Trooper is probably the most biddable dog I have owned.  He currently resides with "Ren" whom I co-own with Carol, “Target” my pitbull mix and “Emily” our cat. From puppy hood on, he has been an easy dog to work with. 

Physical appearance:  Medium built dog, 23.5” at withers, weighing about 68 lbs. Color: red-gold; coat slightly wavy. Very athletic build with excellent movement.

Personality:  Very happy, outgoing dog; lovely temperament with people and other dogs.

Hunting:  Natural upland hunter – he flushed and retrieved his first pheasants at 6 months of age. Easy hunting style on all types of upland birds. Quiet in a duck blind and in the boat. Soft mouth with birds, live or dead.  High prey drive on cripples.

Training:  Very focused when training.  He learns quickly and seems to enjoy all types of training.

Other awards:  Placed 2 nd overall out of 21 teams in 2004 at Yankee Waterfowler’s 9 th Annual Pheasant Championship at 18 months of age. Also awarded High Scoring Young Dog and High Scoring Mixed Gender Shooting Team.

Placed 2 nd overall out of 17 teams in 2006 at Yankee Waterfowler’s 11 th Annual Pheasant Championship. Also awarded High Scoring Mixed Gender Shooting Team.

Our future goals are to earn a NAHRA MHR and one day make the HRC 500 pt club. We will also get our feet wet with tracking next year and attempt to earn a TD.

We are bowing out of competition for the remainder of 2009 and the early part of 2010 to enjoy both waterfowl and upland hunting.
