Xena finished her Senior Hunter title with 6 straight passes and has 2 Master Hunter legs. We had expected her to finish her MH in 2009, but our new house construction prevented us from carrying out our normal training & testing schedule. We plan on getting back on track with training in 2010 and hope to finish up the MH title once and for all. Xena is a dynamite little hunter, full of intensity and drive. She is our favorite duck dog due to her ability to creep quietly when jump shooting or to sit patiently in the duck blind. When running in field events, her competitiveness comes out and we always hold on to our hats and breath as Xena rockets off the line to complete her marks and blinds, earning the nickname The Little Red Rocket from our friends.
Xena gives 110% in everything she does, always doing her utmost to please us. She is a calm, quiet companion to live with. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her. Xena is one of the most affectionate lap dogs of our multi-dog household, and brings the same affectionate, calm serenity to young children on Therapy Dog visits to schools and libraries.
Xena has presented us with 2 lovely litters of multi-purpose hunting and companion pups sired by "Ditto" (Trifectas Repeat Performance ***MH UD WCX ). Pups from those litters are competing in field, tracking, agilty, obedience events and participating in therapy dog work. One pup is an accomplished Dock Jumping Dog who attended the World Championships in 2009. Xena will be bred in winter 2009-2010 to Lacrosse Adirondac Co-Pilot *** WCX, a very accomplished young field trial dog owned by our good friends Steve & Sally Low. We are very excited about the potential of this breeding and expect pups with unlimited ability and drive, yet who also will be calm, well-mannered companions.
